Completed Manga
Completed Manga is the reading status for series you've finished reading. It's your personal hall of fame — the running record of every title you've read to the end — and one of the most-browsed sections of a manga library.
Completed (Your Status) vs. Completed (the Series)
This term causes confusion because "completed" describes two different things:
- Completed Manga — you finished reading it (a status in your library)
- Completed Series — the manga itself finished publishing
A series can be ongoing while you mark it completed in your library because you've read everything released so far. Most readers, though, reserve the Completed status for stories that have truly ended.
Why the Completed List Matters
Beyond bragging rights, your completed list is the backbone of your reading stats. It powers totals like series finished, chapters read, and your favorite genres. It's also a personal recommendation engine — the surest guide to what you'll enjoy next.
From Reading to Completed
A title reaches this status by graduating from Currently Reading once you reach the final available chapter — the opposite of a dropped title you abandoned partway. In MangaTime, finishing a series and moving it to Completed instantly updates your stats and clears it from your active reading queue.

Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about this topic.
What does 'Completed' mean as a manga status?
Completed is the reading status for a series you've finished reading to the end. It reflects your personal progress — you've read everything available — and is separate from whether the series itself has finished publishing.
What's the difference between completed manga and a completed series?
Completed Manga is a status in your library meaning you finished reading it. A completed series means the manga itself has finished publishing — the author has ended the story. You can mark an ongoing series 'completed' in your library if you've read everything out so far, though most readers reserve it for series that are truly finished.
Do completed titles count toward my reading stats?
Yes. Completed manga are a major input to your reading statistics — total series finished, chapters and volumes read, and genre breakdowns all draw heavily on your completed list.
