It started with One Piece. Giorgio kept losing track of new chapters - too many tabs open, too many sources, no good way to know what he’d actually read. One day he asked himself a simple question: “Why isn’t there an app like TVTime, but for manga?” In January 2025, he teamed up with Domenico Gaeni to actually build it: Giorgio Bertolotti on the app, Domenico on everything running underneath it.

Quick answer: MangaTime was founded in January 2025 by Giorgio Bertolotti and Domenico Gaeni, after Giorgio got tired of losing track of manga chapters across a dozen open tabs. It tracks your reading progress, notifies you the moment a new chapter drops, and helps you discover manga you’ll love - no clutter, no confusion.

Who’s Behind MangaTime?

We’re not a big company. There’s no support queue routed through three departments, and no growth team A/B-testing your notification copy. It’s two people who read manga, got tired of losing their place, and built the tool they wanted for themselves - then shipped it for everyone else.

Giorgio Bertolotti

Giorgio Bertolotti

Co-Founder & Mobile Sorcerer

Builds and ships the MangaTime mobile app, and handles most of the outward-facing side of things: marketing, communication, and making sure people actually find MangaTime.

Domenico Gaeni

Domenico Gaeni

Co-Founder & Backend Wizard

Owns everything happening behind the curtain: infrastructure, databases, and the server-side code that keeps chapter notifications landing on time.

What Are We Actually Building?

MangaTime helps you track the chapters you’ve read, get notified the moment a new one drops, and discover manga you’ll love. No clutter. No confusion. Just your manga library, sorted.

The one thing we won’t do is let you read manga inside the app - that’s on purpose, we’d rather point you to the source than compete with it. And honestly? We’re just getting started.
