Best Manga App 2026
"Best manga app" is an evergreen search — readers ask it every year, and in 2026 the answer still comes down to a consistent set of features. This page focuses on tracking apps: the tools that record what you read and keep you current, as opposed to reading apps that host the chapters themselves.
What to Look For
When comparing a manga tracker app, a handful of features separate the best from the rest:
- Reliable push notifications — the app should tell you the instant a followed series updates
- Accurate chapter tracking — precise reading progress across every title
- A well-organized library — sorted by reading status
- Reading stats — totals, genres, and pace over time
- Library import — bring your existing list over in one step
Reading App vs. Tracking App
The biggest source of confusion is the word "app." A reading app hosts pages; a tracking app records your reading and alerts you to releases, working on top of whatever you use to read. For staying current across many ongoing series, the tracking app is what you actually rely on.
The Deciding Factors
Most readers choosing the best app for them are really looking for a MyAnimeList alternative that's mobile-first and alert-driven. MangaTime is built for that reader: a dedicated manga tracker with real new chapter alerts, full library and stat tracking, and one-step import from MyAnimeList and AniList.
