Synopsis
Esmeralda, the daughter of a count, is being pushed toward a political marriage when she decides to pursue a different future. After meeting Alphonse at a ball, she asks him to court her, unaware that he serves as the emperor's covert enforcer. He initially approaches her for a mission, but their arrangement becomes complicated as Esmeralda is drawn into a dangerous conspiracy.
