Synopsis
Reclusive novelist Subaru Mikazuki prefers the company of his own imagination, where other people cannot interrupt his work. After bringing a stray cat home, he begins studying its puzzling habits for inspiration. Caring for an animal proves very different from observing one, forcing Subaru to confront an unfamiliar presence in his carefully ordered life. The story shifts between Subaru's view and the cat's, revealing how the same uneasy companionship looks from both sides.
