Synopsis

After calling off an engagement that threatened to swallow her identity, Chako Hananoki retreats from the city to her family home in the countryside. There, she discovers an unfamiliar man and a young woman already living under its roof. When her persistent former fiancé tracks her down, Chako impulsively presents the man as her husband, turning a private escape into village-wide gossip.
