Synopsis

After a vast western land is opened to settlement, outcasts and opportunists escape an imperial society where martial skill determines who holds power. Zhang Qian, reborn from a comfortable modern life, arrives expecting the legendary combat culture he admired in fiction. Instead, he finds rough, inelegant techniques and sets out across the frontier to restore the refined martial tradition he believes has been lost.
