Synopsis

After an inexplicable encounter involving a patient's brain, surgeon Jin Minakata awakens in Edo-period Japan, far from modern hospitals and equipment. His medical training becomes his only advantage as he treats dangerous illnesses and traumatic injuries among ordinary townspeople and prominent historical figures. Each case forces Jin to balance his duty to save lives against the uncertainty of changing the past.
