Synopsis
In France in 1772, Charles-Henri Sanson carries on his family's grim profession as an executioner, while his sister Marie-Joseph enjoys an independent life at Versailles. When aristocrats kill Alain, the man she loves, her personal loss draws her toward the growing unrest that will soon challenge the nation's social order and force the Sanson family into the turmoil of revolution.
