Synopsis

In eighteenth-century France, social upheaval begins to challenge the foundations of the old order. Henry Charles Sanson stands at its center, bound to a family legacy that has made him Paris's executioner for generations. As calls for freedom and equality spread, he must confront the severe demands of his inherited profession and the fate attached to his name.
