Synopsis
In a Japan governed by a state program meant to combat public apathy, randomly selected citizens are sentenced to die and notified one day in advance. Government courier Kengo Fujimoto delivers these death notices, witnessing how each recipient confronts the final twenty-four hours. As he carries out his duty, the human consequences of the policy force him to question the system he serves.
