Synopsis
Mikako leaves Earth to join an expedition investigating humanity's first contact with an alien civilization, while Noboru remains behind. Separated by immense distances, the two maintain their relationship through brief mobile messages. As Mikako journeys farther into space with barely any change to her own age, years pass for Noboru on Earth, placing their love under pressure from time as well as distance.
