Synopsis

Happy, a powerful young man raised and exploited in an arena, knows little of life beyond combat. After his master's death brings the arena's downfall and his freedom, he must navigate unfamiliar ideas of family, friendship, and community. Yet his past, questions about his origins, and continuing conflict with criminals keep pulling him back toward violence as he seeks a place in the wider world.
