Synopsis
In Edwardian England, Alice, a young woman from an aristocratic family, relies on Hanako, her Japanese maid, within the household. When Alice makes the startling request that Hanako end her life, the maid is left searching for an explanation. Their attempt to confront Alice's hidden pain brings them into a closer, increasingly complicated relationship as affection begins to take root.
