Synopsis
In postwar Los Angeles, Japanese American cartoonist Kevin Yamagata has built his career around Billy Bat, a sharp-tongued detective in bat form. When he learns the character may have been copied unknowingly from an image encountered in Japan, Kevin travels back to the war-ravaged country to locate its creator. His search soon points toward a mystery reaching beyond ordinary authorship.
