Barakamon

Synopsis

After striking a senior figure in the calligraphy world, young artist Seishuu Handa is sent away from Tokyo to a remote island in western Japan. His attempt to reflect and develop his own style is quickly disrupted by Naru, an energetic local child, along with the island community's eccentric, intrusive residents. Surrounded by unfamiliar customs and constant interruptions, Handa must adjust to rural life while confronting the gap between his polished city habits and the more spontaneous creativity of his new home.
