Synopsis
In 13th-century Mongolia, Fatima is taken from Iran and placed in the imperial palace as a servant. Her education in medicine and science gives her a rare chance to pursue intellectual work within a foreign court, but her ambitions unfold under the rule of an empire she has reason to distrust. There, she encounters Töregene, a royal wife whose own view of Mongol power is deeply conflicted.
